Goto a web site for "BBA REMAN",there you'll find the reset procedure for resetting the BSI,body system interface,a common fail point on these and can give all kinds of strange symptoms.
The reset procedure isn't hard but to avoid mistakes I 'll leave it to them.

I would check the engine speed sensor. It sits in the gearbox below the thermostat housing which does have a habit of leaking and the coolant ends up on the sensor and its connector!! The "Built in systems interface" can play up but so can the keypad for the immobiliser as the wires on the back can break and give an intermittant fault.
