2001 Peugeot 406 wont start immobiliser symbol on

CHANGED COMMS UNIT( LIGHTS WASHER/RADIO CONTROL) ON CAR AND HAVE HAD PROBLEM GETTING CAR TO START SINCE. IMMOBILISER SYMBOL STAYING ON. TRIED A NEW TRANSPONDER UNIT STILL THE SAME.

suspect the keys need to be re-syncronized. either a good auto electrician with the correct software, or the dealer i'm afraid...

Hi
You need to get a auto locksmith to re-programme the key.
The new transponder that you have got is useless without being programmed using key programming equipment.
The key that you already had will also need re-programming which a auto electrician wont be able to do (unless they happen to be a auto locksmith also) or take the car to a dealer to be done. The cost of this is going to be far greater than the cost of using a locksmith who will do the work at the cars present location preventing the need to have it recovered, and it will be done within hours rather than waiting for your dealer to fit it in days later.

Put your old one back in and drive it to some one with Peugeot Planet software,dealer is obvious choice here,
Peugeots run everything through a system called the BSI,this is the body systems interface and almost every thing electrical is tied in.
I can run a global test on yours and it'll test everything from the multi function display to the door lock motors,which if you change have to be coded to your car or they trip the immobaliser too!

It sounds like you have the wrong comm.Why have you changed it?
