Engine vibration

1999 Peugeot 406 HDi
Car: Peugeot 406
Year: 1999
Variant: HDi
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
My recent MoT required the catalytic section of the exhaust replacing. This was done and since there has been an engine vibration between 2000-2250 revs on acceleration and cruising (and no other revs). The exhaust system has been "eased" by the garage that fitted the part, and this had a small effect - but not cured the problem. This is engine rev related and not speed related as the problem is there in all gear settings. I noticed a similar effect when a jubilee clip on the turbo pipe broke some years ago - but all seems OK here.
Any suggestions please??

as this has happened since the exhaust was fitted it is quite clearly catching on something on the underside , take it back to your garage that fitted it and complain.
If you had it done at a quick fit centre then thats about as good as it gets i'm afraid

Its because it is a non genuine cat and doesnt fit in front mounting correctly. Unfortunately you will have to live with with it, Removing the single mount on the middle section does help a bit.I do have experience of this as my cat is also non gen and i have the same issue.
