Anti Pollution fault

2001 Peugeot 406 2.0 HDI
Car: Peugeot 406
Year: 2001
Variant: 2.0 HDI
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
The Engine Management Light i.e. the Engine Block symbol light comes on regularly and shows an "Anti Pollution Fault" on the display. It stays on for circa 20 Miles and then goes out. The Car has not had a good hard drive for quite some time - would this be creating the fault - it has only been driven about 6000 Miles in the last Year and literally all of that was in built up areas.

Take the car on a good hard run and keep the engine pulling and working as much as possible to give the system a good blow out...
