1990 Peugeot 309 running temp

Car: Peugeot 309
Year: 1990
Variant: Style
Categories: Engine & Drivetrain
I had the water pump and thermostat changed on my 309 recently. Both were aftermarket items and the work carried out by a professional mechanic, he also added fresh coolant and bled the system properly. However since the work was carried out the car runs hotter than it did before, is this normal when using aftermarket components? My mechanic ran a block test when I took it back to him just in case there was an issue there but all seemed well. Any advice would be appreciated.

Depends on if it was a winter or summer thermostat. Sometimes you can get both.
Winter = hotter temp.
Summer = cooler temp...

More likely you had a problem before but didn't know it.
now the 'stat has been renewed it'll run the temperature it's meant to,not the one your used to.
Typical 'stats open around 88 and a good running temp is around 95.
