Heavy steering and light on dash board indicating the power steering is faulty

It has EPS ( electric power steering ) so the first thing to check would be the  fuse , the alternator is charging as it should and the battery voltage .

If after carrying out the suggested checks it's still not operating , likely to be EPAS motor at fault .
