Oil pressure warning light

2007 Peugeot 207 1.4 Petrol
Car: Peugeot 207
Year: 2007
Variant: 1.4 Petrol
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
since having the head gasket changed i have been having problems with the engine management light coming on quickly followed by "Low oil pressure warning STOP".
The garage has flushed the oil and put in new, changed the oil filter and oil pressure switch/sensor twice, oil pressure has been checked and that is fine?
After changing the oil pressure switch it run fine with no problem for about 3 weeks and then starting coming on again. I find it starts coming on when I have been driving the car for about 30 minutes and then when i slow down or am idle it will come on?
Please help!

If it were in to me I'd put an separate oil pressure gauge on and check the pressure reading.
Failing that then most likely is a failing oil pump.

the garage said that they had checked the oil pressure and it was fine, so looks like i may need to get the oil pump done?is that expensive?

Oil pressure is 3 bar at 2000 RPM,
if it make this then the oil pump is fine.
Which considering renewing a pump is 3 .5 hours plus parts ought to be good news for you.
But I'm afraid if it were in with me now and given the story/history my next step would be suspecting either a faulty wiring harness or possibly a crankshaft/big end wear fault.
Which would require the sump to come off and the big ends checked.

If its a 1,4 16v (not ep3) then I suspect scored cam journals which will require a new head. Not enough oil used on cams/journals when head gasket replaced.
