Sunroof won't open

The factory fitted sunroof on my Peugeot 207 will not open. It starts/tries too, but it just makes a funny noise and nothing happens! It's hardly ever been used, and someone mentioned it may be full of rubbish or leaves, etc. Any ideas what it may be or how to fix it? Many thanks.

While it is trying to open, just try and give it a little help, but not to much force. It may help you to see what is wrong or where it is maybe jamming. If you manage to get it open, then lubricate all moving parts...
