YU DO NOT WANT IT TO STOP AND START. GO THROUGH BATTERY AND STARTER. WHICH IS RUBBISH. I DO 40 MILES TO WORK AND BACK. HARDLY USE LIGHTS OR HEATING. ONE MECHANIC SAY IT WAS THE BATTERY OTHER SAY IT A SOFT WARE PROBLEM WITH PEUGEOT. MY CAR DUE A SERVICE NEXT MONTH IT YEAR OLD. PHONE UP 2 BOOK IT IN. 6 WEEKS WAITING LIST. SO GOIG IN ON THE 5 OCTOBER. THEY WANT TO KEEP THE CAR FOR 2 DAYS. TO CHECK THE STOP AND START. NOT RISING MY HOPE IT NEVER WORK FOR YEAR NOT ONCE. I LIKE THE CAR THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE. PLUS SAT NAVE THE TOM TOM THE PLACES ARE VERY SMALL ON THE MAP. AND YOU CAN NOT MAKE THEM ANY BIGGER EVEN IF YOU ZOOM IN. HAD A SEAT ALTEA FOR 5 YEARS THE STOP AND START WORK NO PROBLEM. NO BATTERY OR STARTER EVER NEEDED.

If the battery is low it negates the stop / start . The service manager is correct in regard to this hence why it is a heavier starter and battery fitted .Personally I detest stop / start and switch off on my cars .Software update MAY fix .

The main cause on many cars with stop/start issues is ,as previously stated power management, you could try disconnecting the battery and charging it to its full potential,re-connect ,run car to full operating temperature, see if it works ,drivers seat belt even has to be plugged in and obviously system switched on.

You are better doing nothing yourself on the car as it could give reason to invalidate your warranty .

Probably right there as everything’s traceable through diagnostics and if the battery has been depleted at some point in its life would still be covered.
