2006 Peugeot 107 car just stops when slowing down and will not restart immediately

car only been driven twice but both times car just stopped whilst driving.
first time just after turning a corner, second after slowing down at traffic lights. Basically the engine stops, all the lights come on the dashboard but the engine will not turn over and will not restart for several minutes. As this is a new car to me, am I inadvertently doing something wrong? (I am an experienced driver in both manual and auto gears with copious cars of different makes). It is highly embarrassing and very dangerous!

Hard to say , but I would get your battery LOAD tested as a low battery can cause problems with engine management circuits . Your engine cutting out could be caused by the idle speed control valve needing cleaned / replaced .
