2002 Peugeot 106 knocking noise from underneath

If it's coming from front , sounds like driveshaft CV joint knackered . Best descibed as a heavy clicking noise ?

Yes it sounds like that.

If you don't have a garage you normally
use , you might find someone in Yellow Pages under car repairs who specialise in replacing C/V joints / driveshafts etc . Usually a lot cheaper and a quick repair as they have parts in stock . Hope this helps you .

easy to replace the drive shaft will cost about £60 to £80 depending on which cv joint is causing the problem and you will also need some gear oil aswell 75w90 is the grade of oil you will need for the 106 vehicles usually about 3 ltrs required but cheaper to buy a gallon and would be cheaper to source your own parts to once you know which drive shaft is causing the problem maximun time to replace a shaft is a hour tops

Both drive shafts complete with CV's available on ebay for around 50 quid for the pair, I just did mine and it worked out a lot cheaper getting the parts via ebay:

... and just paying a mechanic for his time. whole job including parts and labour cost me just over 100 quid.
