Misfiring badly at 2000rpm

2000 Peugeot 106 Zest (petrol, 1.1)
Car: Peugeot 106
Year: 2000
Variant: Zest (petrol, 1.1)
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Car has been reliable for ages, now has started misfiring at exactly 2000rpm. Up to 1999 rpm it's ok. To get up to motorway speed I get to 1999 rpm in 5th, then move to 4th gear which takes the revs well over 2000, and she runs smoothly up to normal motorway speeds, revving 2500-say 4000, normal power. Tried Redex in fuel, and although better for a couple of days, problem is back again. Any ideas?

Checked out the plug leads, plugs and coil pack; thorough clean over and wipe dry. 2 mile drive and problem fixed! 10 minutes at shops then return 2 miles and presto, the misfiring at 2000rpm starts again! Pulled over for a minute to take a call, restarted and it's fine again! Hmmm...
