Need more information on gearbox fault .

Well it will drive then some time will just cut out then will say aortmatic gear falt then turn off and leave for few mins then it's fine but would not start the other day so had a mobile mac out he got started then would no go in to revise so he had look at brake switch the it started to work

Your mobile mechanic should have carried out a diagnostic scan for fault codes which would be stored and acted on findings .Also advised you on brake switch , if faulty and needing replaced

He said to get one but did not say fault with it just said as he looked at moved it and all then brake lights work then revise was know working he recommended getting did not say needed one

With an automatic gearbox you usually need to press the brake pedal to start the car . If switch faulty it wont start , that is why he checked to see if the brake lights were working . If not working and switch faulty , non start . Whatever he did to switch , with the wiring / connection or the switch plunger , must have been why non start ,

No he got it started but the wood not go into to revise and brake lights was not working so he checked the switch then thay worked and went it to revise and then started doing the gear falt

You really need to get it scanned , and
