2005 Peugeot 1007 drops out of all gears including neutral

Car: Peugeot 1007
Year: 2005
Variant: 1.6 auto
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
Hi, peugeot 1007 1.6 55 plate. Approaching junctions and roundabouts the car intermittantly loses all gears and automatic gear failure warning is displayed leaving me no drive sometimes half way out at junctions or roundabouts rolling into traffic. So far ive managed to pull over safely but fear this may not always be the case.
After about a min it seems to reset its self and operates normaly again for a while.
Previously had a c2 sensodrive so i am familiar with the old disconnect the battery and wait to re set the gears with the brake trick.
Anybody any thoughts as its a real pain in the backside?

in first instance check for bad connections check for any oil leaks on gearbox will maybe have to get it scanned to check for any fault codes could be brake light switch fault

Gearbox oil level ok ?

I replaced the gearbox oil yesterday and the same amount came out as was to be refilled so ive rulled out low oil, no leaks on the gearbox all dry and sound. Seems to happen mostly when the car is being driven for a while, car feels like it hesitates slightly just before it does it. I still have brakes an steering when it happens and the engine revs because your foot is usually on the accelerator gettin ready to enter roundabout or pull out of a junction when it happens, i will check all the conections i can but am at the outside edge of what i understand mechanicaly.
Trying to avoid having to go to peugeot mechanic as this seems to be their achillies heel.
Thanks to the two people that offered suggestions
