Always unable to select gears

I have has this happen many times now and I am begining to get concerned. While travelling at low speeds the car jumps out of gear and the indicator light states automatic gearbox failure. I order to get the gears again I have to turn the car off wait 5 minutes and then turn it back on. At that point I have my gears back. Any Suggestions.

Sounds like an electrical problem to me. Check the wiring from the gearbox computer to the gearbox itself. Pay special attention to connector blocks and clean any corrosion.

You need to get the car scanned and see what fault codes show , otherwise just guessing .

you need to get the car code read. most likely oil pressure fault. would advice to take to a automatic gearbox garage as many garages dont know how to fix a prob like this and will just charge u a new box
