2004 Nissan X-Trail hunting and searching for fuel on start up

When i start the car it surges as if its not getting enough fuel,its like you are gently revving the engine and letting it die down again,it stays like this untill the engine gets hot then it runs as normal

Best to get a diagnostic done check for codes,

Check / replace engine coolant temp sensor.

Just to add they are common for fuel rail pressure valve it sits on the end of the fuel rail with what I can only describe as a ball bearing which can seize and cause this type of issue and it seems to get better as engine temp rises ,may not be your issue .
