2011 Nissan Pixo vent control knob

The knob which controls the air to windscreen, feet etc is not working. It clicks into various positions but the air always comes from the feet area. The fan works fine.
How is the air distributed to the different parts of the car behind the knob. Is it a cable for instance?
Secondly, how do I get behind the knob. Does it pull off or do I do something else?
In the picture it's the knob on the right.

I would expect a 2011 Nissan to be still under Warranty so take it to a Nissan Dealer to get it sorted.
