trying to re set valves for timing chains

if re fitting chains you will see 3 different colour links in chain, the 2 colours the same (think yellow)align with marked tooth on each cam sprocket.the third link aligns with marked tooth on fuel pump.the lower chain from pump to crankshaft is timed up in the same way, but there is only 2 coloured links. it can only go on one way
