2002 Nissan Elgrand oil leak

My van drives fine but it feels like the motor is really hot, under the bonnet, tho it doesn't indicate that on the internal warning signs. A friend said, on looking underneath, that there's a leak of oil into some sort of tray midway of the van. What would this be and are they related?

Impossible to say without seeing and dependent on what type oil , engine , transmission , power steering etc Needs checking by someone better qualified to assess Could be something simple like oil filter , oil pressure switch or a gasket or something more serious
