2005 Mitsubishi Space Star battery warning light on & off

starts up OK then battery light comes on & off . revs sound in line with light display engine seems to nearly cut out then comes back.

Would first check battery and charge rate of alternator and if vehicles been sitting ,like so many have ,that nothing’s seizing up in the auxiliaries,I.e.alternator itself or air Con pump

Load test battery and alternator .
