Door open warning lights come on at random times the stays on when locked and drains the battery fully.

2007 Mitsubishi Shogun LWB
Car: Mitsubishi Shogun
Year: 2007
Variant: LWB
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
After being in a garage for replacement fuel tank it would not start without a boost. Since them the door warning lights come on a random times when driving and when just parked up with no ignition key in. Once the doors are locked, three minutes later the alarm goes off. having to disconnect the battery so that it can be started after parking up for more than a couple of hours. Had the RAC out for home start and battery comes out ok on their test. Other random warning lights also coming on.

According to this , your year still has separate courtesy light switches . I would check them first .

Thanks whittingehame, I have had them switched off and it makes no difference.
I am going to bite the bullet and git it into a reputable garage and get a full diagnostic done.

I should have been more clearer in regard to the switches . It would appear that your car may have the older contact switches on the door that often fail / stick and still send signal up to the interior light etc. Even if the lamp is in off position it will still activate the door open light if faulty . Just a thought before you get involved with diagnostic checks , but may be needed .
