Will not rev above 1700 rpm

car starts and ticks over perfectly but will not rev past 1700 rpm it started after the batteries was flat removed bateries and recharged started vehice and throttle had to be floored to tick over left over night started next morning car ran fine for a couple of days then this fault appeared fuel filter has been changed no leaks on the fuel system ran a fuel line straight into clean fuel to rule out fuel tank and lines still the same any ideas before i get the injection checked out

a bit far out but the 2.5 did suffer from balancer belts breaking mine did and knocked the timing belt out a couple of teeth ran like poo and smoaked a lot

just on the bulkhead at the corner of the battery there are two vacume solenoids did u happen to dammage or disconnect wires or vac pipes.
