If I was having this problem the first thing I would check is the battery connections ,I would make sure they are clean and getting a good contact and the battery clamps were tight and not loose, check the levels in the battery make sure its not low, other than that I would check the power getting back to my battery from the alternator,if that is ok, must be your battery,if not must be your alternator at fault, check your ignition fuse is not loose, these things are what I would go over, good luck

Hi horseluvver, I was wondering if you managed to solve your battery problem on the Pajero? I have the same car and the exact same problem. Same lights come on also. If you did can you please, please, please tell me how to solve this problem. I have had this jeep for 4 years now and have not yet had a full years use from it. Any advise would be immensly appreciated.
Much obliged.
