Sluggish drive and delayed gear change

2000 Mitsubishi Pajero Auto
Car: Mitsubishi Pajero
Year: 2000
Variant: Auto
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Vehicle starts ok and you can feel the gear change when you place it in d-drive all is fine there, but when I move off the vehicle is quite sluggish but does pick up slowly and the gears do start to change but when I have stopped at lights the whole thing repeats

The mileage 148000

Could it be timing belt or the auto gear box

Any help much appreciated
