Starts fine and ticks over but when you rev it , it misses and going down the road it wont change up the gears . I thought fuel starvation so added an inline electric pump but it still has the same fault. I also tried bypassing the fuel filter but still the same , any ideas ?

You've went to that much trouble then put a gallon can of diesel in the passengers footwell and run a pipe to the system under the bonnet.
A trick I used on an old RR P38,
It ran fine on the piggy back tank so I the checked the steel fuel lines under the thing,
They had been squished by some careless bugger with a two poster ramp!

spot on it ran fine will take tank off tomorrow something is blocking the pick up. Cheers
