1996 Mitsubishi Pajero glow plug timer

Car: Mitsubishi Pajero
Year: 1996
Variant: 2800 INTERCOOLED TURBO
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
I have a problem where the glow plugs are being energised for about 2mins after starting. I noticed this after I replaced the cylinder head (cracked between combustion chamber and valve)Afer starting I noticed the connector bar connections to the plugs was smoking, tested with a lamp and saw the problem. Where can I check the timer relay or what else can cause this ?
