Variant: 2.5 turbo intercooler MMC
Categories: Leaks & Noises
I have just brought my 1st pajero and when it's going through the gearbox range there is a slight rumble. Gear jumping sound only very Faint before changing from second to 3 rd or it might be 1st to 2nd its at very low speed then it won't change up again till I get to 60mph is this normal for a auto to do or do I need to change the gearbox oil and filter???

Are you positive the noise is from the box and not props halt ,drive train,as for not changing up are you accelerating hard when this occurs or just normal driving?a fluid change certainly would not hurt but first check the level is okay.may just req.a top up.
