Hi
Your problem could be something as simple as needing a bit of "easy-start" spray just to give the engine a little help to get going. I am asuming that your glow-plugs are working ok. If you do use easy-start though only use a little as it can have adverse effects if used to much as it will wash the lubricant off the cylinder wall, and the engine can become dependent on it. If this starts the engine but it will only run for a few seconds whilst the spray is being used you may have issues with the fuel pump timing or the fuel cut-off solinoid.

was the replacement pulley identical to original had one once changed pulley it would not start turned out the timing marks were at a different position on the replcement pulley throwing the timing out
