i have a 3.2 did that when its switched off the revs run upto about 1500 rpm then after about 5 seconds stops, the "flap" on the intake was diagnosed as fault and replaced and is better but now it smokes on startup and makes a funny noise when its switched off.

sounds like over fueling. or injector fault. would advise a diesel Specialised they will know straight away. as long as they good
