1989 Mitsubishi Galant engine makes tappet noise
Year: 1989
Variant: 2.0 dohc 24valve gsr
On cold start up sounds like ill adjusted rocket gear, but in the garage book sais it has hydraulic lifters????.

If it has hydraulic tappets you could try changing engine oil and filter , using a good oil of correct grade .The older Rolls Royces used to sound like also on starting till oil got up .
