Transmission noises

2005 Mitsubishi Colt RG 1.5 Auto
Car: Mitsubishi Colt
Year: 2005
Variant: RG 1.5 Auto
Categories: Gearbox & Clutch
clunking in reverse and take off in drive. also grumbling noises. under load mostly. almost like c.v joint clunk, only does when driving straight on takeoff or reversing up a slight up hill driveway. noise is middle of engine. all mounts are fine, c/v joints n boots are fine. would a transmission converter make similar noises? or has anyone had this problem? thanks.

I'd say a torque converter fault is a good guess.
Check the fluid levels first.
