2003 Mitsubishi Carisma car goes off after moving for 5-6km

For few months now i've been having issues with my Carisma and it's so frustrating. My Car goes off after running few kilometers. When it goes off I will wait for 20-30mins and then it starts again and goes off after another few kilometers. Please what could be the issue as my mechanic seem not to locate the fault.

Not knowing what work has been done on car , hard to advise . Could get him to check this fuel filter is not partially blocked .
