gears not selecting properly on drive

Could realy use a little more information to get yourself a solution.
Is the car manual or automatic?
Does the car go into gear? if so is there no drive (could be a broken drive shaft, or clutch)
Try putting as much info as you can including if the problem has gradualy happened or was ok 1 seconed issue the next.

My car is automatic and i experience difficulty in the gear selection, noticed that it is when i release my leg from the accelerator and press it again that it changes, would appreciate your further response.

have the transmission oil checked and the kick-down cable checked...
