Starting fault

Vito generally starts 1st time,however if I leave vehicle without locking or sit in cab with ignition off for a while, it fails to start,after several tries and waiting 10 mins it will start once more ? any ideas ??

Switch off the ignition, exit the Viano and lock it using the remote plip. Walk away at least 100m from it and wait at least ten minutes. Return, unlock the Viano and start it as normal. If it starts perfectly, your problem may be that the engine immobiliser programme is becoming 'confused' when the ignition is switched off but the vehicle is not being fully locked down. Activating itself, it cannot 'de-activate' until it has received both 'lock' and 'unlock' signals from the remote plip. This programming error exists across several vehicle makes that share the same immobiliser manufacturer at that time of production.

Thanks , I have a 'feeling' it is immobilizer related, I will try your suggested remedy and keep up-dating......fingers crossed !

I have exactly the same problem but has also cut out while travelling at speed can the immobiliser be disconnected ?
