2006 Mercedes Benz S Class coolant leaking

A few days ago yello light message on dash to top up coolant, repeated message after driving for 3 hours. After filling up about a litre of coolant, the light goes off, yellow engine light on as well.

You need to either scan for fault codes , pressure test cooling system for leaks or both . Or possibly carry out a block test if needed .

Thank you so much. I’ll get a diagnostic check but probably it’s water pump. I checked on YouTube videos and it takes an hour to change water pump. Let’s see what is with diagnostic check.

If the water pump is leaking it usually shows up with a coolant pressure test and would save getting a diagnostic check carried out . If faulty and replaced it might clear the light / message

Thank you. I’ll get the pressure test done. Hopefully it’s not something too serious.
