Bonnet release lever inside car does not release the bonnet.

does it feel like it is doing anything when you pull on lever if so get someone to push down on front of bonnet then pull lever keep lever pulled and get the person to push down and then pull up if it opens i recommend lubricating all the catches and operate them before shutting bonnet again to check they work.if this does not work you can sometimes access the cables through front grill or otherwise will have to go from underneath the car and get to the catches through the front by the radiator
