small oil leak somewhere around turbo after towing caravan all other times nothing car runs very well no smoke from exhaust.

Could be residue from boost pipe?
A lot of diesels leak a small amount of fuel from boost pipes,
It's when it's a massive amount which can get into the intake could cause issues..... Revving up etc....
