2001 Mercedes Benz CLK heater

Car: Mercedes Benz CLK
Year: 2001
Variant: 230 aventgaurd
Categories: Leaks & Noises
The heater has turned its self on to high speed and now I can not turn it down or off, even when the key is removed. I have to take the fuse out so it dosent flatten the battery.
Any ideas.

check the wiring going to heater switch pack, make sure nothing is damaged, could be a fault with control module, get a diagnostic done if available on that model and see what faults show

Sounds like your heater resistor pack is faulty and requires replacing (resistor pack controls blower motor output) I think it's pretty easy to replace on that car .

This from Merc forum might help you ,

You remove the cover under the dash passenger side, remove the regulator the remove the 4 screws holding in the motor, you can then test it on the bench with a 12 volt supply
