2004 Mazda RX-8 starter motor burnt out

The starter motor has burnt out and I am trying to source a replacement but understand that on the newer models the starter motors have been upgraded to a more powerful version. Should I be able to get one to fit my 2004 model and does anyone know the part no. and where I can get one from as all suppliers that I have tried say they havent any.
