1999 Land Rover Freelander clutch or clutch plate ????

I have had three new clutches in the past 12 monthes and the firm that fitted them have informed me that the clutch is not the problem but they cant tell me what the problem is.
When I use first gear and only first gear the car shudders it dosent happen every time but its most prevelant on a hill if its not the clutch what is it

i can only think that it might be down to a warped flywheel by the way what type of clutch is it that they are fitting ie name/make of clutch if its not borg and beck or a luk clutch then it could be down to the fact that its a cheap clutch and that may be why they keep changing it with out any questions or money handed over for the repairs
