1994 Land Rover Freelander 3rd & 4th gear judder when changing gear

Car: Land Rover Freelander
Year: 1994
Variant: 2.5 tdi
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
When I set off in 1st & 2nd gear all is smooth when clutch is let out but going into 3rd or 4th and it feels as though the engine is juddering. I can make it better by increasing the revs as I let out the clutch but long term I suspect this will wear the clutch out. Going into 5th gear is not an issue !. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Could be clutch release bearing on way out.

Strange you only get it in 3rd and 4th gears .With that car / transmission set up you really need to get it checked out by a specialist LandRover garage or someone experienced with Landys as there could be many possible causes . As you say , slipping the clutch to make it better wont help in the long run .
