2000 Kia Sedona not starting

my aux belt snapped chaged it emptyed fuel tank cause was full of petrol not diesel now it will not start will turn over and run on easystart but will not stay runing.

is this the 2.9 d and was it ok before the belt snapped and was in run on the petrol

first try changing the fuel filter and making sure that fuel is being pumped from tank to the filter and that it is holding pressure next check the fuses and the starting relay are ok you could try cracking the injector pipes, well you are turning over and check you have fuel there.
9 times out of ten when these kia sedonas do not start its beacause of a drop in fuel pressure the most common cause is a faulty fuel injector especialy if this is the early 2.9 merc engine

yes the car was running fine untill the belt snapped
we have changed the fuel filter and the diesel is coming through but then when you try and start it the is air in the fuel filter when you open the valve amd use the hand pump

re check your fuel filter make sure all the seals are inplace and not twisted or doubled up and check all the fuel lines it sounds like its drawing air into the system from some where

how do you know if fuel is being pumped from tank to filter and holding pressure?
