2005 Kia Rio loss of power when accelerating after changing gears and engine management light on

Hi can anyone help me?! When I try to accelerate I have no power what so ever. It started a few days ago. I was changing through the gears and had now power when accelerating but once I hit a certain Speed the power kicked in. But after driving tonight had the same trouble but the car sort of jolted and I have lost all power when accelerating. And after the car jolted the engine management light came on amber. Could anyone help me out and tell me what the problem is??

Unless you get it scanned , just guess work . Could try changing fuel filter for a start .

I had the fuel filter changed at the start of september

A slipping clutch perhaps ? Really need it scanned to see what triggered light and read code .
