Overdrive on but no power, just lots of revving

When the overdrive is on the engine will rev up like its about to take off but there is no power at all, in fact it seems to slow down and you have to lift your foot off the accelerator to regain any power

A lot of trouble with those gearboxes , you need to get it scanned and read whatever transmission fault codes are showing . Or take it to a transmission specialist for diagnosing . Could be internal fault , external fault or both .
