Without knowing more , it could be steering column , steering rack , suspension / steering joints worn

The knock is due to a worn bush in the connection between the steering column and the power steering motor. The hyundai i40 has power steering via a motor vs hydraulic.
I ordered the bush off e bay. ( £ 7.00) There are several vids on you tube showning how to replace .
2 hours work with a socket set and a phillips screwdriver bush replaced..... result Knock gone and back to being a pleasure to drive.
