2009 Hyundai i20 paintwork

Car: Hyundai i20
Year: 2009
Categories: Leaks & Noises
I bought the car as new and from being 6 months old the paint start coming off from around the front door handles, the area was re sprayed. It happenned again and the back window rusted. All were re sprayed again. Again it has happenned and 7 panels have been re sprayed. Hyundai said they would make a report to find out the cause but haven`t. Does anyone know what my rights are please, I`ve got a car with an obvious paintwork problem yet Hyundai keep fobbing me off.

I wouldn't have let it go for so long , especially after 7 panels resprayed !!!! Obviously an inherent fault with paintwork / bodywork since you got car . I would want car replaced , though being a 2009 car now causes problems . Either that or a great deal on another car , but would not keep it any longer . How long have you had to do without car while all this work has been carried is another bone of contention you should raise .Also take " mick p's " advice

It`s not the half of it, I`ve had to drive the car 40 miles to the garage and back each time to get photos taken of the paintwork problem , and then book the car in to be re sprayed so drive it to the garage again. So it`s 80 miles per each re spray! , oh and I`ve been offered £60 as a gesture of good will. I do get a hire car but no immediate solution to the problem. I have got a rusty car! I wrote to Mr Big Hyundai and he told me to pay for an independant inspection and that I have to bear in mind outside influences can affect the car. If that were the case, they wouldn`t have taken it back under warranty so many times.
AND the steering rack broke, when I rang to say it had been clarified with my local garage at the end of my road I was instructed to DRIVE the car 20 miles to the garage. Hyundai refused to recover the car and so I had to pay for it. In the warranty there is a clause that says something aong the lines of " Any original Hyundai part which fails under warranty will be replaced at no extra cost to the owner" . Yet refuse to recover the vehicle and argue with me to drive it with a broken steering rack, it would endanger my life and other road users to have driven it. Hyundai customer care is shocking!!!!!!!!!!!!
The next time the paintwork blisters (which it will!) I shall take it straight to a solicitor and contact Trading Standards so they`re aware of how I`ve been treated, I have all the correspondance. My voice and rights simply are being ignored by Hyundai. Thank you for your help :)
