2005 Hyundai Getz speedo/clock/odomoter display disappears and abs light comes on

Does anyone know why my speedo/clock/odometer light and display suddenly stop working? Sometimes for 5 minutes, then comes back on again. The headlights and other dashboard lights stay on and the car keeps going!
Also, why does my ABS light keep coming on and staying on? If I turn off the engine after, say, about 10 minutes and then restart after about 2 minutes, sometimes the ABS light will go off. Kwikfit have had the computer on it several times but cannot find anything.
Is there anything I can do myself or is it going to cost me lots of money at a specialist dealer?

Many possible causes , best to get it scanned and see what fault codes are shown .
