2001 Honda Civic stalk controls .ref and dec plus end button ?

hi iv just bought a Honda civic SE executive 1.6 auto and on the column is a stalk with a slide button saying on and off 'a button on the end the letters REF and DEC could someone please explain what they are please I'v read the hand book from front to back and there is no third stalk ? plus searched the internet and youtube 'with no luck 'when 'plus the stalk moves up and down ? when I bought the car they said the button is the overdrive but when I press it nothing happens ??? thanks tony

Sure it's not cruise control ?

yes it could be ? but he said overdrive 'but when I push the button in nothing happens'and no indication its on or off on the dash ? fantastic car in wonderful condition and only 50.000 miles '

Cruise control usually doesn't kick in to approx 30mph + .If not working , could check fuses .Handbook may give setting procedure ?

This is for a 2000 Civic cruise control , may give you an idea if nothing in handbook .That's if it is cruise control .

thanks for the link 'going to lift my bonnet now to check the fuses and to see if there's anything else I can spot'tony
