2002 Honda Civic slow heater warm up

Car: Honda Civic
Year: 2002
Variant: 1.6 sport
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
On cold mornings after starting car it takes a long time before any warm air comes through to defrost screens. I changed the thermostat and worked well for approx 1 week but now back to cold air in the mornings. Engine warm with top hose to radiator hot and bottom hose cold. Run engine for approx 20 mins -- no heat. Take car onto road and drive for approx 1 mile before heat emerges through fan.

could be an air block/bubble in the system run the engine with the header cap off and if theres an air block it should work its way out obviously dont drive with the cap off

Strange that the replacement thermostat worked fine for a week, maybe that one has gone faulty too?

Hi again
The temp gauge shows normal . One of the heater hoses is warm whereas the other is cold.
