Excessive Brake pedal travel

2001 Honda Accord

I just drove my wifes Honda CRV and noticed that the brake pedal when braking almost reaches the floor. Why is this and how do I get the pedal up a good bit as there is loads of travel before it bites ? I checked the fluid level in case of a leak but it is ok. The pads were changed about 10 -15K miles ago

Possible master cylinder fault, try bleeding the brakes, check calipers for any sign of dampness/leaks.

you might have air in the brake pipes, try bleeding them or check the master and slave cylinders and check the disks and pads for dampness or leaks.
